Veteran actor Anupam Kher’s directorial venture ‘Tanvi The Great’ is set to begin its digital journey on Prime Video from March 3. The film, which has already travelled across theatres and international festivals, will now be available to audiences worldwide on the streaming platform.
On Monday, Kher took to Instagram to share the news, posting an emotional note about the film’s transition to OTT. Calling it deeply personal, he wrote that while every film is special, some become a part of one’s soul, and ‘Tanvi The Great’ is one such project for him. Reflecting on the making of the film and the audience’s response so far, he said it was built on belief — belief in courage, goodness and the idea that being different does not mean being less.
Kher described the journey from cinema halls to international festivals and heartfelt messages from viewers as profoundly moving. Announcing its premiere on Prime Video, he said the film now belongs to the audience — to be watched with family, children and parents alike. He characterised it as a story of heart, dignity and resilience, urging viewers who believe in cinema’s ability to inspire and heal to watch and share it.
‘Tanvi The Great’ explores themes of autism and the Indian Army. The story follows a young girl, played by Shubhangi, who is inspired by her late father’s service in the army and dreams of following in his footsteps. The narrative blends personal struggle with patriotic aspiration, focusing on determination and emotional strength.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani and Karan Tacker in key roles alongside Anupam Kher.
Internationally, the film has garnered praise with screenings at prominent festivals in Cannes, New York, Houston and London. It also received standing ovations during special screenings at the National Defence Academy and Southern Command in Pune, reflecting its emotional resonance with audiences connected to the armed forces.
With its arrival on Prime Video, ‘Tanvi The Great’ is poised to reach a wider audience, carrying forward a story rooted in empathy, resilience and quiet strength.
