Reliance Jio has completed 10 years of its journey in India. The company started its 4G services on September 5, 2016, beginning what it described as a digital revolution in the country.
Jio saw a strong response soon after its launch. In less than six months, the company crossed 100 million customers. According to Aayush Bhatnagar’s LinkedIn post today, this showed the strong demand in India for affordable and high-quality digital connectivity.
In 2022, Jio took its next major step by launching 5G services. The company used an indigenously developed technology stack for its 5G network, which was built by Indian engineers.
Over the past 10 years, Jio has continued to expand its presence in India’s digital connectivity sector. The company said its journey has been focused on connecting people across the country and supporting India’s digital growth.
Jio has now crossed 500 million customers, The company said its growth is continuing as it looks towards the next stage of its technology journey.
Looking ahead, Jio plans to bring 6G technology to Indian users. The company said this technology will be powered by its own technology and developed with the needs of India in mind.
