Cricket fans across India will get a chance to watch the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in cinemas for the first time. JioStar and PVR INOX have announced a partnership to bring live matches from the tournament to the big screen, offering fans a unique viewing experience outside their homes.
According to a JioStar press release, PVR INOX cinemas will screen team India’s group-stage matches, both semi-finals, and the final live at selected theatres across the country. the move marks the first ever theatrical screening of an international women’s cricket tournament in India.
The companies aim to create a stadium-like atmosphere inside cinemas, allowing fans to enjoy every boundary, wicket, and key moment on giant screens with advanced sound and picture quality. the initiative is also expected to bring cricket lovers together and boost support for the Indian women’s team during the tournament.
To make the experience affordable, ticket prices will range between ₹99 and ₹150. organisers believe the low ticket cost will encourage more people, including families and young fans, to watch the matches in theatres.
According to the announcement, more than 168 screenings will be held across PVR INOX cinemas during the tournament. the number of screening locations is expected to increase as the competition progresses towards the knockout stages, ensuring that more fans can be part of the action.
PVR INOX CEO Gautam Dutta said cricket has a unique ability to unite people and that bringing the women’s T20 World Cup to cinemas will give fans a new way to experience the excitement of the game. He added that the partnership celebrates the growing popularity of women’s cricket and aims to create memorable shared experiences for audiences.
The initiative is also part of JioStar’s broader efforts to promote women’s cricket and make the sport more accessible to fans. by taking matches beyond television and digital screens and into cinemas, the company hopes to attract larger audiences and strengthen the fan base for women’s cricket in India.
Fans will be able to book tickets through the PVR INOX website and mobile application. more details about screening locations and schedules are expected to be announced closer to the tournament.
