In a major boost for India’s growing game development ecosystem, NODWIN Gaming and Nodding Heads Games have announced the launch of the inaugural ‘India Games Showcase’ (IGS), a dedicated digital event designed to bring Indian-made games to a global audience. The showcase will premiere on June 8 and feature 40 curated indie titles through game reveals, trailers, gameplay demonstrations, and developer announcements.
The initiative has been launched as an official partner event of the globally renowned Summer Game Fest, founded by Geoff Keighley. The partnership places Indian game developers alongside some of the biggest names in the international gaming industry, offering unprecedented visibility to homegrown studios. A dedicated Steam event will also accompany the showcase, allowing players worldwide to discover, follow, and wishlist participating titles.
The announcement marks an important milestone for India’s gaming industry, which has witnessed significant growth over the past decade. While Indian developers have increasingly created original games inspired by diverse storytelling traditions, genres, and artistic influences, gaining international recognition has remained a challenge for many independent studios. The India Games Showcase aims to bridge that gap by providing a global platform during one of gaming’s most-watched annual events.
The showcase is spearheaded by Nodding Heads Games, the studio behind the critically acclaimed Raji: An Ancient Epic. The title became a landmark achievement for Indian game development after becoming the first Indian game to receive a nomination at The Game Awards in the Best Debut Game category and earning multiple international accolades.=
Speaking about the initiative, Akshat Rathee said that India’s indie gaming ecosystem is experiencing a wave of creative energy, with developers blending global-quality gameplay mechanics and uniquely Indian storytelling. He noted that the goal is to ensure that exceptional games created in India gain the global recognition, distribution opportunities, and audience reach they deserve.
Echoing the sentiment, Avichal Singh said the debut of India Games Showcase demonstrates the growing international presence of Indian indie developers. He described the partnership with Summer Game Fest as another significant validation of the country’s rapidly evolving gaming landscape.
Ahead of the June 8 event, organisers have revealed some of the featured titles. Among them is ‘Raahi’ by Kalp, set in 1990s Goa and centred on an auto-rickshaw driver collecting stories from passengers. ‘Dodo Duckie’ by BornMonkie offers a dimension-switching puzzle adventure, while ‘Loop: Beginning Of Never Ending Journey’ by Pravin Nikam takes players through a surreal world of mysteries and puzzles. Other showcased titles include ‘Rakshasa’ from Odd Compass Studio and ‘Silkgrove’ by Gallic Entertainment.
With 40 titles set to be featured, the India Games Showcase is expected to become one of the most significant platforms yet for Indian game creators, offering them a chance to connect with players, publishers, and industry stakeholders from around the world. The initiative also reflects the increasing maturity of India’s game development sector as it seeks a stronger presence on the global gaming stage.
