Sony Sports Network has launched a new campaign, ‘Ground Tumhara, Jeet Hamari’ (venue is yours, but victory is mine) ahead of India’s much-anticipated tour of England.
The five-match Test series begins on June 20, 2025, and will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network.
According to an IANS report, the campaign is centered around a bold animation-led film that mirrors the narrative shift in Indian cricket. As the team enters a new phase following the retirement of legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, a fresh squad led by a new captain is ready to tackle England in their own backyard — on iconic grounds like Lord’s, The Oval, Edgbaston, Headingley, and Old Trafford.
With only three series wins in England over the past 100 years, the challenge is steep. But the team carries the spirit of ‘Naya India, Dhaakad India’ — a fearless, dynamic side determined to change the script.
Sony Sports Network has released a string of gripping promotional films as part of this campaign. The ‘Captains Promo’ features post-match reflections from three former Indian captains — Ajit Wadekar (1971), Kapil Dev (1986), and Rahul Dravid (2007) — who each led India to rare series wins in England. Their stories build up to the rallying cry, “Ground to Tumhara hai, par jeet hamari hogi,” underlining the magnitude of what this new team aims to achieve.
Another campaign film titled ‘Fury in Harmony – Bumrah’ captures Jasprit Bumrah’s game-changing delivery from the 2020-21 series, showcasing the raw emotion and thrill that Test cricket brings. A third film, yet to be aired, titled ‘Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki’, uses the classic 1984 Bollywood track to emphasize the intense rivalry between India and England. It also reflects on the tough conditions and hostile crowds that have historically tested Indian cricketers in the UK.
Featuring cricket greats Sunil Gavaskar, Irfan Pathan, Gaurav Kapur and Sanjana Ganesan, alongside English players like Mark Wood, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith and Gus Atkinson, the film underlines the determination of the new squad to settle scores and make history.
Speaking on the campaign, Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution & International Business and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India, said, “The India tour of England will be a ‘test’ in the truest sense of the word. While our recent dominance in limited-overs cricket is a testament to the depth and talent of Indian cricket, Test matches in England present a unique challenge. With ‘Naya India, Dhaakad India’, we are celebrating the courage and determination of this new generation, which is unafraid, undeterred, and ready to script history.”
Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan said, “Test cricket in England is the ultimate examination of skill, temperament, and character. With a new generation stepping up, Team India is not just carrying forward a legacy—they are writing a new chapter in our cricketing history. ‘Ground Tumhara, Jeet Hamari’ perfectly captures the fearless attitude and resilience of this squad.”
