Apple TV has renewed its multi-Emmy Award-nominated travel series ‘The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy’ for a fourth season, with the new eight-episode instalment set to follow host and executive producer Eugene Levy as he takes on travel experiences he has long avoided and embraces unfamiliar adventures and challenges.
The upcoming season, according to an Apple TV statement yesterday, will see Levy push himself further after three seasons on the road, adopting a more adventurous approach by saying “yes” to experiences that he would previously have instinctively turned down.
“After three seasons on the show I have just about accepted, albeit begrudgingly, that saying ‘yes’ to new experiences is not necessarily a bad thing for me,” Levy said, “So, I’ve committed to saying ‘yes’ a little more often this season. It’s a strategy I’m approaching with considerable caution.”
Apple said the series has earned widespread acclaim from critics and audiences since its debut, with reviewers praising its blend of travel documentary and comedy. The third season featured a widely discussed episode with Prince William, alongside appearances by Grammy Award-winning singer Michael Bublé and adventures with Levy’s daughter Sarah Levy.
According to the company, the series has received several industry honours, including Best Travel/Adventure Show and Best Unstructured Series at the Critics Choice Real TV Awards, and Best Variety or Reality Show at the Imagen Awards. It has also been nominated for Emmy Awards in the categories of Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special and Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program, in addition to a Critics Choice Documentary Award nomination for Best Ongoing Documentary.
The complete first three seasons of ‘The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy’ are currently available to stream globally on Apple TV. The series is produced for Apple TV by Twofour and is executive produced by Levy, David Brindley, Nic Patten, Lily Fitzpatrick, Iain Peckham and Adam Barry.
Apple highlighted the broader reach of its streaming service, which offers original drama, comedy, films, documentaries and family programming across more than 100 countries and regions. Since launching in November 2019, Apple TV originals have amassed 843 award wins and 3,585 nominations, including recognition for titles such as ‘The Studio’, ‘Ted Lasso’, ‘Severance’, ‘
