Lionsgate Play has entered into a strategic partnership with entertainment aggregation platform PlayboxTV, a move aimed at bringing its library of premium Hollywood films and series to a wider audience across India. Through the collaboration, PlayboxTV users will now be able to access the studio’s catalogue of international content through a single integrated platform experience.
According to a Lionsgate Play press release, the partnership is designed to simplify content discovery while expanding access to globally acclaimed movies, series and exclusive premieres. The alliance also reflects the growing trend of content aggregation, where consumers increasingly prefer accessing multiple streaming services through a unified platform.
For Lionsgate Play, the partnership offers an opportunity to extend the reach of its premium entertainment portfolio among Indian viewers. For PlayboxTV, the addition of Lionsgate Play strengthens its growing content ecosystem and reinforces its focus on offering viewers a broad range of high-quality entertainment options through a single destination.
As part of the integration, PlayboxTV subscribers will gain access to a diverse slate of titles from Lionsgate Play’s library. The lineup includes popular action franchises such as ‘The Expendables’, ‘John Wick’, ‘Rambo’, ‘Greenland’ and ‘Den of Thieves’. The platform will also feature international dramas and thrillers including ‘The Taj Story’, ‘Kabul’, ‘Paris Has Fallen’, ‘Shelter’, ‘The Bayou’, ‘Primitive War’ and ‘Vigil’.
In addition to films, audiences will be able to stream acclaimed series such as ‘Normal People’ and ‘Heated Rivalry’, alongside regional-language offerings including ‘Soothravakyam’, ‘Kaalidas 2’ and ‘Detective Ujjwallan’. The content has been localized to cater to Indian audiences across different languages and viewing preferences.
Commenting on the partnership, Vaibhavi Parikh, Senior Vice President – Partnerships and Alliances at Lionsgate Play, said distribution plays a critical role in connecting premium content with audiences.
She noted that integrating Lionsgate Play’s globally recognised content library with PlayboxTV’s growing consumer base would make premium storytelling more accessible and convenient for viewers.
Aamir Mulani, Founder and CEO of PlayboxTV, said the partnership aligns with the company’s vision of simplifying content consumption for Indian audiences. He added that Lionsgate Play’s reputation for delivering compelling global stories complements PlayboxTV’s efforts to build a diverse entertainment ecosystem.
The collaboration comes at a time when competition in India’s streaming market continues to intensify.
