Prime Video has officially announced the return of its high-stakes spy series ‘Citadel’ Season 2, confirming that all seven episodes will premiere globally on May 6, 2026. Alongside the announcement, the platform also unveiled an action-packed trailer, offering a glimpse into the next chapter of the ambitious espionage saga that spans multiple countries and narratives.
The announcement comes via a Prime Video press release, detailing the scale and ambition of the upcoming season, which will stream exclusively across more than 240 countries and territories. Building on the momentum of its first outing, the series promises a more intense, expansive storyline with higher stakes and deeper character arcs.
At the heart of ‘Citadel’ remains its central trio—Richard Madden as Mason Kane, Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Nadia Sinh, and Stanley Tucci as Bernard Orlick. The narrative continues to follow these elite operatives of a once-powerful global spy agency that was destroyed by Manticore, a shadowy network backed by influential global forces. With a new and formidable threat emerging, the trio is drawn back into action, tasked with assembling a fresh team of operatives to counter a conspiracy that could alter the course of humanity.
Season 2 expands its ensemble significantly, bringing in new faces while retaining key returning characters. Actors like Jack Reynor, Matt Berry, and Lina El Arabi join the cast, alongside returning performers such as Lesley Manville and Ashleigh Cummings. Additional cast members include Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone, and Rayna Vallandingham, adding further depth to the global storyline.
The series continues to be backed by Amazon MGM Studios in collaboration with the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo serve as executive producers, with David Weil returning as showrunner, director, and executive producer. The creative team also includes Greg Yaitanes as director, alongside a lineup of seasoned producers contributing to the show’s large-scale vision.
With its mix of blockbuster action, layered storytelling, and a constantly evolving roster of characters, ‘Citadel’ S2 aims to push the boundaries of global streaming entertainment. As the trailer hints at betrayals, alliances, and a mission that spans continents, the new season is set to build on its reputation as one of Prime Video’s most ambitious international franchises.
