The International Cricket Council (ICC) has partnered with YouTube to significantly expand global access to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, as part of efforts to accelerate the growth of women’s cricket and engage new audiences across emerging markets.
According to an ICC press release, the collaboration will bring live coverage, local-language content and enhanced fan engagement initiatives to viewers across multiple territories, making the tournament more accessible than ever before.
As part of the partnership, all official warm-up matches and the ICC Captains’ Carnival have already been streamed live on the ICC’s YouTube channel. In addition, every match of the tournament will be available live in select territories including Nepal, Germany, the Netherlands and Japan.
The initiative goes beyond live streaming, with dedicated audience development campaigns planned across markets such as Malaysia, France, Italy, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand. Further fan engagement activities are also being rolled out in Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden as the ICC seeks to strengthen cricket’s footprint in non-traditional markets.
To make the tournament more relevant for local audiences, YouTube will also offer dedicated language feeds and commentary options in Japanese, Bahasa Indonesia and Thai. The move builds on the success of similar localisation efforts introduced during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and reflects the governing body’s broader strategy to make cricket more discoverable and inclusive.
Fans around the world will also have access to full match highlights and a wide range of video-on-demand content throughout the tournament. In India, users searching for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 on YouTube will be directed to a dedicated content hub featuring highlights, analysis and tournament-related content in a single destination.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone for women’s cricket, which has witnessed rapid growth in popularity, viewership and commercial interest in recent years. By leveraging YouTube’s global reach and accessibility, the ICC aims to introduce the sport to new audiences while deepening engagement among existing fans.
The opening match of the tournament between England and Sri Lanka on June 12 is also being made available on YouTube by Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, providing additional visibility for the competition.
Commenting on the initiative, Finn Bradshaw, ICC Head of Digital, said the Women’s T20 World Cup presents a major opportunity to introduce cricket to new audiences and strengthen engagement with existing fans worldwide. He noted that live coverage, local-language content, creator-led storytelling and improved discoverability would help make the tournament more accessible than ever before.
Gautam Anand, Vice President of YouTube APAC, said the platform continues to serve as a global destination for premium sports content and expressed confidence that the partnership would help fans across emerging markets connect more deeply with the tournament. He added that localised commentary and wider access would help break language barriers and turn the event into a shared global cultural experience.
The partnership underlines the growing importance of digital platforms in the global sports ecosystem and reflects the ICC’s ambition to make women’s cricket one of the fastest-growing sports properties in the world.
