San Diego Comic-Con witnessed a charged atmosphere on Friday as ‘Gen V’, the gripping spinoff of ‘The Boys’, unveiled its official Season 2 trailer during a star-studded panel hosted by Prime Video. The event not only treated fans to exclusive first looks and cast appearances but also delivered fresh plot details, teasing a darker, more thrilling chapter ahead.
The high-octane trailer teased an electrifying return to Godolkin University, where the battle between Humans and Supes edges dangerously closer. As tensions rise nationwide under Homelander’s growing dominance, the new season sees Godolkin’s halls brimming with unrest, power struggles, and a secret that could change everything. The second season of ‘Gen V’ premieres globally on September 17, with the first three episodes streaming exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories.
As per a press release from Prime Video, this upcoming season directly connects to key events that will lead into ‘The Boys’ final installment, raising the stakes for fans who have been following the Vought universe closely. The platform, along with Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, has promised a gripping ride through wild new powers, mysterious conspiracies, and jaw-dropping cameos.
The Comic-Con panel saw the presence of cast members Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Hamish Linklater, and showrunner Michele Fazekas, moderated by ‘The Boys’ regular P.J. Byrne. The session opened with a surprise video message from Chace Crawford, reprising his role as ‘The Deep’ — a nod to his roots as a Godolkin alumnus and signaling his return in a guest appearance.
One of the key highlights is the introduction of Ethan Slater, acclaimed for his role as Boq in Wicked, who joins the cast as Thomas Godolkin, a recurring character with significant ties to the university’s mysterious origins. Another big development is Sean Patrick Thomas’s promotion to series regular as Polarity, hinting at a deeper exploration of his character this season.
Season 2 promises to pick up the emotional threads left hanging after Season 1’s chaos. As Cate and Sam are hailed as heroes, Marie, Jordan, and Emma return, still reeling from trauma and tragedy. But amid lectures and late-night parties, a covert program buried deep in the university’s past begins to surface — one that could redefine the history of supes as they know it. And somehow, Marie Moreau stands at the heart of it all.
Returning cast includes Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, and Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher.
Michele Fazekas continues as showrunner and executive producer, alongside a powerhouse team of producers including ‘The Boys’ creator Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver. The series is a collaborative production between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
With fresh characters, deeper mysteries, and a direct narrative link to the endgame of ‘The Boys’, ‘Gen V’ S2 is gearing up to be a must-watch this fall.
