Apple TV yesterday unveiled the trailer for season six of its Emmy and BAFTA TV Award-winning espionage drama ‘Slow Horses’, starring Academy Award winner Sir Gary Oldman.

The six-episode season will premiere globally on September 16, with new episodes releasing weekly through October 21, 2026.

The new season sees the dysfunctional MI5 agents of Slough House on the run as Diana Taverner draws them into a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge. Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the group.

Season six is adapted from Mick Herron’s sixth and seventh Slough House novels, ‘Joe Country’ and ‘Slough House’.

The returning ensemble includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving.

BAFTA TV Award winner Lenny Rush joins the cast as a new addition, while Olivia Cooke will also reprise her role as Sidonie ‘Sid’ Baker.

The series follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents relegated to Slough House, an MI5 department known as a dumping ground for spies whose careers have been derailed by mistakes.

The fifth season of ‘Slow Horses’ earned nine Primetime Emmy Awards, including a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, while Oldman and Lowden received acting nominations.

All five seasons have received Certified Fresh scores on Rotten Tomatoes, with two earning a perfect 100 percent critics’ score, according to Apple.

Season six is adapted for television by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe, with Adam Randall returning to direct. The series is produced for Apple TV by See-Saw Films, with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Oldman serving as executive producers.
