Dish TV India Ltd. has strengthened its focus on South India with the launch of a new regional entertainment offering designed around language-first content, affordable pricing and uninterrupted viewing experiences for households across the region.
According to a press release, the enhanced offering has been curated specifically for audiences in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam-speaking markets, where regional entertainment, cinema and family television viewing continue to play a central role in everyday life. The company said the move is aimed at making entertainment simpler, more accessible and better aligned with evolving consumer preferences.
The new packs start at Rs.149 per month and combine regional entertainment, movies, sports and daily programming under a simplified viewing experience. Dish TV stated that the base pack includes more than 225 channels, including over 36 Tamil language channels, while Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam packs each offer more than 30 channels tailored to local audience preferences.
As part of the offering, the company has also introduced a new ‘Sports Always-On’ feature that allows viewers to continue accessing important sports content even during recharge gaps or temporary service interruptions. The feature is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted access to live sporting events, a category that continues to see strong engagement across television households.
Speaking about the announcement, Manoj Dobhal, CEO and Executive Director of Dish TV India Ltd., said South India remains one of the company’s most important markets due to its strong language preferences and highly engaged family viewing culture. He added that the new packs are designed to make quality entertainment more accessible while simplifying the viewing experience for consumers.
Sukhpreet Singh, Chief Revenue Officer at Dish TV India Ltd., said today’s consumers are increasingly looking for value-driven and personalised entertainment experiences that reflect their language and viewing habits. He noted that the new offering combines affordability, regional content and uninterrupted access into a consumer-focused proposition aimed at everyday household viewing.
South India continues to be one of India’s strongest regional television markets, with audiences showing deep loyalty towards local storytelling, regional cinema and language-specific entertainment. With this latest move, Dish TV is looking to deepen its presence in the region while strengthening its broader strategy around personalised and regional entertainment experiences.
