Zee Studios, in association with Contiloe Pictures, is bringing to the big screen a gripping cinematic tribute to one of India’s most courageous counter-terror operations. Titled ‘Akshardham: Operation Vajra Shakti’, the action-thriller headlined by Akshaye Khanna and directed by Ken Ghosh is all set for a nationwide theatrical release on July 4, 2025.
The film revisits the chilling events of 2002, when terrorists stormed the Akshardham Temple in Gujarat, claiming innocent lives and shaking the nation’s conscience. In response, the Indian armed forces launched a swift and silent counter-offensive, code-named Operation Vajra Shakti, which will now unfold on screen with dramatic intensity and patriotic fervour.
The just-released poster paints a haunting picture: stone pillars of the revered temple stretch into shadow, as the silhouette of a commando silently takes position. It’s a stark reminder of the quiet bravery that underpins acts of national defence, capturing the mood before the mission — tense, purposeful, and poised for action.
Produced by Abhimanyu Singh, the film marks a significant collaboration between Zee Studios and Contiloe Pictures, who aim to deliver a story that not only engages viewers but also reminds them of the real-life heroism etched into India’s modern history.
‘Akshardham: Operation Vajra Shakti’ is scheduled for a grand global release on July 4, 2025. Audiences can expect a powerful cinematic experience that showcases India’s resolve in the face of terror — not just through bullets and battles, but through the sheer will to protect what’s sacred.
