Grammy-winning artists Future and Tyla will perform their new collaboration ‘Game Time’ at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Los Angeles on June 12, the governing body of football announced.
According to FIFA, the song is part of the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 album and is designed to capture the energy, anticipation and global excitement surrounding the tournament. The performance is scheduled for the opening ceremony in Los Angeles, one of the host cities for the expanded 48-team competition.
FIFA in a statement late last week said ‘Game Time’ brings together the distinct musical styles of Future and Tyla and reflects the worldwide appeal of football and music. The governing body described the track as a celebration of the passion and emotion that accompany the World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Future said the World Cup represents a truly global stage and expressed excitement about bringing the song’s energy to fans at the opening ceremony. Tyla called her involvement in the official tournament album a “full circle moment”, recalling South Africa’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2010.
FIFA said the performance forms part of its efforts to blend sport, entertainment and culture during the tournament, with music expected to play a central role in engaging fans across the world. The organisation added that the official album will feature artists from different regions, highlighting the diversity and international reach of the World Cup.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams and will be staged across three host nations. FIFA said the opening ceremony in Los Angeles will serve as a major global showcase ahead of the start of competition, bringing together football supporters and music fans from around the world.
