Paramount Pictures has announced that the next chapter in its popular comedy franchise, ‘Meet the Parents’, titled ‘Focker In-Law’, will release in Indian cinemas on November 27. The film marks a fresh addition to the much-loved series, promising a new dose of chaos, humour, and family drama that has defined the franchise over the years.
The announcement comes as part of a studio update, with the film bringing back Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in their iconic roles, while also introducing a new dynamic with Ariana Grande joining the ensemble. The combination of returning stars and fresh casting is expected to inject new energy into the storyline while retaining the essence that audiences have connected with for years.
Written and directed by John Hamburg, who has been closely associated with the franchise as a co-writer on all previous films, ‘Focker In-Law’ is set to continue the series’ legacy of blending awkward family encounters with sharp comedic timing. The film is produced by Jane Rosenthal and De Niro under Tribeca Productions, along with Stiller and John Lesher for Red Hour Films.
While plot details remain largely under wraps, the film is being positioned as a “chaotic and comedy-packed” extension of the franchise, suggesting more intergenerational clashes and humorous misunderstandings at its core. Given the enduring popularity of the earlier films, expectations are high for this installment to resonate with both long-time fans and newer audiences.
With its theatrical release locked for late November, ‘Focker In-Law’ is likely to tap into the holiday season footfall.
