Streaming giant Netflix has announced that its live-action adaptation of the popular manga ‘One Piece’ will return for a third season, even before the much-anticipated second season premieres.

According to a PTI report, the news was revealed during the ‘One Piece’ Day celebrations in Tokyo, where fans were also treated to the first look at Season 2. The pirate adventure series, adapted from Eiichiro Oda’s long-running and beloved manga, has been one of Netflix’s most ambitious live-action projects to date, drawing global attention with its blend of fantasy, high-seas action, and loyal character portrayals.

In a press release, Netflix confirmed that production for Season 3 will commence later this year in Cape Town, South Africa. Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer, a move expected to further strengthen the creative team behind the series.

The early renewal underscores Netflix’s confidence in the franchise, which has developed a strong fan base worldwide. With the second season already generating buzz, the announcement has only heightened anticipation for the next chapter in Monkey D. Luffy’s quest to find the legendary treasure, the ‘One Piece.’
