Serena Menon has joined Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios as Head of Communications for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. She announced the appointment through a LinkedIn post, describing it as “a new chapter” and expressing enthusiasm about working with teams across India, Japan and Southeast Asia.
In her post, Menon said APAC is “an incredibly diverse and complex region” and a key growth engine. She added that she looks forward to collaborating across markets to help shape the next phase of the business in the region.
An earlier update by her had reflected on her tenure at Netflix, where she expressed gratitude for her experience with the company. Her move comes shortly after another leadership change within Amazon’s streaming communications ecosystem, pointing to a broader reshuffle in the sector.
At Netflix, Menon led the India publicity team as Director, Public Relations, India.
She was responsible for strategic communications, brand positioning and earned media campaigns for local originals as well as international titles, helping strengthen the platform’s presence in the Indian market through market-focused storytelling and publicity initiatives.
Before that, she served as Director, Photo and AV Studio, Asia Pacific, overseeing creative teams across India, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. In the role, she led visual storytelling and campaign strategies aimed at supporting title promotion and audience engagement across the region.
