Actor Kangana Ranaut is all set to make her Hollywood debut with the horror drama ‘Blessed Be The Evil’, marking a new chapter in her two-decade-long career in Indian cinema. The film will be produced by a US-based studio and is expected to begin filming later this year in the United Kingdom.
According to a PTI report, the film is described as a psychological horror thriller with supernatural elements, and Ranaut will be seen playing a complex and layered role that differs significantly from her earlier screen avatars. The project will reportedly explore themes of faith, fear, and the unknown, set against the haunting backdrop of a remote European village.
Kangana, who is known for her bold choices and powerful performances in films like ‘Queen’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, and ‘Thalaivii’, expressed her excitement about the international project. In a brief statement, she said, “It’s a script that haunted me from the moment I read it. I’ve always believed in stories that challenge me as an actor, and Blessed Be The Evil does just that — emotionally, mentally, and creatively.”
The makers have not yet revealed the rest of the cast, but industry sources suggest the film will feature a mix of international and Indian talent, with a focus on storytelling over spectacle. It will be helmed by a debutant director from the UK, whose previous short films have earned critical acclaim in the festival circuit.
This move to Hollywood comes as Ranaut continues to stay in the headlines for her outspoken personality, political views, and a series of high-profile projects. She is also awaiting the release of her directorial venture ‘Emergency’, in which she essays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
With ‘Blessed Be The Evil’, Kangana becomes the latest in a growing list of Indian actors who have crossed over to Hollywood, a trend that reflects the increasing global appeal of Indian talent.
