Hollywood star George Clooney will be honoured with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. The prestigious award recognises his outstanding contribution to the film industry over several decades.
According to a PTI report, the festival will take place from September 2 to September 12, where Clooney will receive the special honour for his remarkable career as an actor, director, and producer.
Clooney is known for starring in hit films such as ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, ‘Michael Clayton’, ‘Gravity’, and ‘Jay Kelly’, along with the popular television series ‘ER’. He began his acting career in 1978 with the TV series ‘Centennial’ and has since become one of Hollywood’s most respected stars.
Reacting to the announcement, Clooney said he feels honoured to receive the Golden Lion and thanked the Venice International Film Festival for the recognition.
The Golden Lion for lifetime achievement is one of the festival’s highest honours and is awarded to artists who have made a lasting impact on world cinema.
