GoQuest Media and Rains Pictures have greenlit the second season of ‘Arafta’, following the massive success of its debut run, which has crossed 850 million views on YouTube. The show has also secured licensing deals across 19 territories, underlining its growing global footprint.
The upcoming season, already in production, will consist of 100 episodes and continue with a YouTube-first release strategy — a model that has quietly disrupted traditional content distribution. Season 1, which premiered in November 2025, built a strong digital audience before expanding into international markets, reversing the usual order of release and syndication.
The series is currently licensed to platforms such as Amazon MX Player in India, Kanal 7, and Vidio, along with broadcasters across Europe including Romania, Hungary, and Latvia. Across five language-specific YouTube channels, the show has attracted over 2.5 million subscribers, signalling a strong and expanding appetite for Turkish storytelling worldwide.
What stands out is that many of these licensing deals were finalised after the show had already been released on YouTube, effectively flipping the traditional broadcast-first model. Instead of competing with television or OTT platforms, the digital-first approach appears to have strengthened the show’s value by building awareness and audience demand upfront.
Vivek Lath, Managing Director at GoQuest Media, said the performance of ‘Arafta’ validates the “make-to-sell” model, where a YouTube-first strategy enhances the asset being licensed rather than limiting it. From the production side, Rains Pictures executive Sevda Kaygısız noted that the decision to move ahead with Season 2 was driven by both the show’s success and the depth of its storytelling potential.
Season 1 concluded on April 17 with a globally streamed finale that drew over 102,000 concurrent viewers, setting the stage for the next chapter. Lead actors İlsu Demirci and Emin Günenç are set to return, as the narrative continues to explore themes of love, vengeance, sacrifice, and fate.
