Actor and host Rajeev Khandelwal recently revealed a lesser-known chapter of his acting journey on the show ‘Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar’, offering a candid and personal insight into how he developed his performance skills over time.
According to an SET press note, the actor opened up during an interaction with contestant Purva, a dancer on the show, where the conversation turned reflective and deeply relatable. Speaking about his early days, Rajeev shared how he would closely observe other actors and later attempt to recreate their performances in private, trying to understand his own screen presence and capabilities.
Recalling those moments, he said, “Jab main logon ko dekhta tha, toh main khud jaa ke apne room mein thoda-bahut aisa sochta tha ki main bhi aisa kar sakta hoon, koshish karta tha ki main bhi aisa dekh sakta hoon. Toh yeh na ek naturally hota hai kyunki dancers… for example, mujhe yeh dancing mein kabhi nahi hua, woh jab bulate the toh main woh hi chaar step kar liye ya kuch thoda-thoda copy kar liya.” His honest admission highlighted that even seasoned performers often begin their journey through observation and imitation before discovering their unique style.
The interaction took a thoughtful turn when Rajeev asked Purva whether dancing came naturally to her. She responded affirmatively, adding that when an art form comes instinctively, it enhances expression and makes the performance feel more authentic. This exchange brought out an interesting contrast between learned craft and natural ability, resonating with both participants and viewers alike.
The moment stood out not just for its honesty but also for the connection it built between the host and the contestant. By sharing his own vulnerabilities and growth process, Rajeev offered a glimpse into the discipline and self-reflection that shapes an artist’s journey, making the conversation both insightful and inspiring.
‘Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar’, hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal, airs Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and streams on Sony LIV.
