Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has created history at the Indian box office, emerging as the highest-earning Hindi film of all time. The Ranveer Singh-starrer has recorded a total India nett collection of over Rs.831 crore, firmly securing the top position among all Hindi releases to date.
According to a PTI report, the film continued its strong run even in its fifth week at the cinemas. With Day 33 earnings on Tuesday standing at Rs.5.70 crore nett, ‘Dhurandhar’ took its cumulative India nett total to Rs.831.40 crore, overtaking previous records and setting a new benchmark for Hindi cinema.
The makers described the milestone as a defining moment for the industry. “History has been rewritten. With Tuesday’s collections, ‘Dhurandhar’ has officially risen to become the highest-earning Hindi film of all time, a towering achievement that has redefined Indian box office success,” the production team said in a statement.
Since its release, ‘Dhurandhar’ has enjoyed an exceptional theatrical run, driven by strong word-of-mouth, repeat audiences and sustained footfalls across key centres. Industry watchers point out that the film’s ability to hold screens and draw crowds well into its fourth and fifth weeks has been crucial in helping it scale this unprecedented figure.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film’s performance further cements his position as one of the most bankable filmmakers in the industry. For Ranveer Singh, the record-breaking success adds another landmark to his career, with ‘Dhurandhar’ now standing as the biggest Hindi box office grosser in India’s cinematic history.
