In a significant development for the broadcasting industry, Sony has successfully secured distribution deals with leading Multi-System Operators (MSOs) GTPL, DEN and Hathway. This agreement marks a pivotal moment for LCOs and their consumers, ensuring uninterrupted access to Sony’s extensive content library, the broadcaster said.
The negotiations, which required considerable effort from both parties, have concluded favorably. The collaborative spirit exhibited by the broadcaster and MSOs sets a promising precedent for future industry relations. Emphasizing the importance of consumer satisfaction, this deal ensures that viewers remain unaffected by any adverse decisions from stakeholders.
Expressing gratitude for the collective patience and support, a representative from Sony’s distribution team acknowledged the role of DEN, Hathway, GTPL executives, LCOs and consumers during this challenging period.
“SPNI values its strong, collaborative relationships with MSO partners across India. We are pleased to announce that, following constructive negotiations, our channels have been successfully restored on several platforms. We expect to extend this restoration to all remaining platforms soon” according to a media statement by Sony.
Aavishkar Media Group congratulates the Sony distribution team, executives of DEN, Hathway, GTPL, LCOs and consumers for their patience and resilience.
