GTPL Hathway Limited, India’s largest Multiple System Operator (MSO), has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative by introducing linear television content on Connected TVs through TVKey Cloud, a pioneering joint solution developed by NAGRA and Samsung.
This milestone marks a significant leap forward for GTPL, offering viewers unprecedented access to linear content with enhanced convenience and security, the company said in a press release.
The compatibility of TVKey Cloud with a wide range of Samsung Connected TVs, including Ultra HD, OLED, QLED, and NeoQLED models from both 2023 and soon-to-be-launched 2024 series, ensures accessibility to a broad spectrum of potential users. By eliminating the need for a separate set-top box, this innovation simplifies the viewing experience and reduces clutter, resonating with the preferences of modern consumers for streamlined entertainment setups.
The integration of TVKey into GTPL’s offerings provides subscribers with secure access to premium content directly through their TV remote control. Leveraging TVKey’s unique on-chip security, this integration ensures a high level of content protection, enhancing user satisfaction and driving further growth for GTPL.
Anirudhsinh Jadeja, Managing Director at GTPL, emphasized the alignment of this proposition with evolving consumer viewing habits. He stated, “With an increasing number of consumers opting for connected TV viewing, GTPL’s introduction of TVKey to deliver linear TV content offers unparalleled convenience, complementing linear TV services with streaming offerings to maximize subscriber value.”
The collaboration between GTPL, NAGRA, and Samsung underscores a commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions. Nancy Goldberg, Executive Vice President and CMO at NAGRA, expressed enthusiasm for supporting GTPL with this latest addition to their service. She emphasized TVKey Cloud’s role in securing content and enabling sophisticated viewing experiences tailored to evolving consumer behaviors.
As GTPL continues to evolve its business model to meet the dynamic needs of consumers, the introduction of TVKey Cloud signals a strategic move towards enhancing content accessibility and driving user engagement in the ever-evolving landscape of digital entertainment.
