Prime Video has announced plans to invest more than $2 billion in Latin America between 2027 and 2030 to expand its original content, local programming and live sports.
According to an Amazon official announcement,the investment will focus on Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile. Prime Video said the number of Local Originals will more than double by 2030, with more than 25 new titles planned for 2027.
The investment will cover original films and series, locally produced and acquired content, as well as live sports rights.
The announcement was made at Prime Video Presents Latin America, the company’s first regional showcase event, held in Mexico City on August 20, 2026.
Kelly Day, Vice President of International at Prime Video, said the investment will support local talent, stories and audiences across the region.
