In a strong rebuttal to recent accusations circulating on social media, India TV founder and esteemed journalist Rajat Sharma has categorically denied claims that he used abusive language on air.
With a distinguished career spanning over four decades, Sharma is celebrated for his cultured and civilized demeanor both on and off air, earning widespread admiration for his polite and gentle anchoring style.
The allegations, described as baseless and defamatory, were addressed in a formal statement issued by Sharma’s representatives.
The statement highlighted the unfounded nature of the accusations, emphasizing Sharma’s high degree of credibility and reputation in the media industry.
“The allegations made by you (Congress party’s Ragini Nayak, Pawan Khera and Jairam Ramesh) in your posts are absolutely false and lack any basis and foundation whatsoever. They are malicious and defamatory and clearly constitute fake news,” the statement read.
Sharma’s team is considering legal action against the false claims, asserting that the allegations are a blatant violation of public decency and are intended to tarnish Sharma’s impeccable reputation. The statement also warned against any further dissemination of the false information, particularly through a proposed press conference.
“We have come to know that you are trying to further compound the imperceivable by proposing a press conference and disseminating the same baseless, false, and defamatory news once again. We warn you that you should desist from this,” the statement continued.
It reiterated that Sharma has never used abusive language in either private or public life, and any inferences drawn to the contrary are per se defamatory.
Sharma’s representative stressed her commitment to protecting his reputation and integrity, underscoring the seriousness with which these allegations were viewed.
“We reserve the right to take further legal action,” the statement concluded.
