Ultra Media & Entertainment is bringing back one of Marathi cinema’s most loved comedy franchises with ‘Punha Ekda Sade Made Teen’, which will begin streaming on the Marathi OTT platform Ultra Jhakaas from March 19.
According to a press release from the streamer, the film revives the chaotic and humour-filled world that audiences first experienced in the cult 2006 Marathi hit ‘Sade Made Teen’, a movie that continues to enjoy immense popularity among Marathi viewers.
Presented by Ultra Media & Entertainment and directed by Ankush Chaudhari, the sequel features an ensemble cast led by veteran actors Ashok Saraf, Makrand Anaspure, Bharat Jadhav and Siddharth Jadhav. The film also stars Rinku Rajguru, Samruddhi Kelkar and Sanket Pathak in key roles, bringing together familiar faces and fresh energy to appeal to both long-time fans and new audiences.
The story once again revolves around the eccentric Kurle brothers, who run a small garage and live by a strict personal rule that keeps their lives simple and uncomplicated — no ladies and no marriage. Their calm routine is soon disrupted when a woman unexpectedly enters their lives, triggering a chain of comic misunderstandings, chaotic situations and humorous twists that turn their world upside down.
Over the years, ‘Sade Made Teen’ has developed a cult following for its unique style of comedy and memorable characters. With ‘Punha Ekda Sade Made Teen’, the makers revive the beloved comedy universe while adding a contemporary touch, aligning with the growing trend of sequels and franchise storytelling that continues to resonate with audiences across Indian cinema.
Commenting on the digital release, Sushilkumar Agrawal, Founder and CEO of Ultra Media & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., said comedy has always been one of the strongest pillars of Marathi cinema and that ‘Punha Ekda Sade Made Teen’ carries forward that tradition with entertaining characters and relatable humour.
The OTT platform Ultra Jhakaas currently offers more than 4,000 hours of Marathi content across over 1,500 titles, including films, originals, theatre productions, television shows and culturally rooted programming, the streamer said.
As part of an effort to make Marathi entertainment more accessible, the platform has also introduced a weekly subscription starting at Rs.19, allowing viewers to explore its growing catalogue of Marathi films, originals and theatre content at an affordable entry point.
