The makers of ‘Batwara 1947’ have released the film’s romantic song ‘Tabassum’, offering audiences a glimpse of love and hope set against the backdrop of India’s Partition.

According to an ANI report, the song is composed, produced and arranged by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. It has been sung by Sonu Nigam and Heer.

The music video features Ali Fazal, Karan Deol, Kanikka Kapur and Isha Sandhir, portraying a touching love story during pre-Partition India.

 Sharing the track, the makers described ‘Tabassum’ as a celebration of ‘love, hope and tenderness against all odds’. The song captures the warmth of love and the emotional bond between the lead characters despite the difficult times around them.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit under Aamir Khan Productions, ‘Batwara 1947’ stars Deol, Preity G Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Fazal, Karan Deol and Abhimanyu Singh.

The period drama is set during the Partition of India and is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on August 14.
