Spanish romantic thriller ‘Drawn Together’ emerged as the most-watched Prime Original film worldwide during the week of September 7-13, while ‘Reacher’ topped the series chart, according to Amazon Prime Video’s weekly global viewing rankings.
Indian productions also made a strong showing, with ‘Babita Singh Reporting’ ranking sixth among all Original films worldwide and second among non-English films. On the series side, ‘The Traitors’, ‘The Revolutionaries’ and ‘Mirzapur’ occupied three of the top five spots in the non-English series chart.
Amazon said the rankings are based on the total number of worldwide Prime Video accounts that watched a title between September 7 and 13.
For series, the figures cover accounts that watched any available season, while the rankings differ from the shorter-period, country-specific lists displayed within the Prime Video app.
At the top of the global film chart was ‘Drawn Together / Enfrentados: Marfil’, the Spanish-language adaptation of Mercedes Ron’s novel ‘Marfil’.
Starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García, the romantic thriller follows Marfil Cortés, the daughter of a Spanish tycoon who is kidnapped and subsequently assigned a mysterious bodyguard. The film also led the non-English film rankings.
Amazon’s other global film chart performers included ‘The Runner’ at No. 2, followed by ‘The Last Sunrise’, ‘Project Hail Mary’ and ‘Masters of the Universe’. ‘Babita Singh Reporting’ came in at No. 6, ahead of ‘Playdate’, ‘The Sheep Detectives’, ‘A Working Man’ and ‘Wildcat’.
On the series chart, ‘Reacher’ led worldwide viewing, followed by the returning motoring series ‘The Grand Tour’. ‘Sterling Point’, ‘Off Campus’, Germany’s ‘LOL Next’ and Mexico’s ‘The Trial / El Juicio’ rounded out the next four positions, while ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’, ‘Ride or Die’ and ‘The Boys’ also featured in the top 10. India’s ‘The Traitors’ entered at No. 10.
Indian representation was stronger in the non-English series rankings. Germany’s ‘LOL Next’ led that chart, followed by ‘The Trial / El Juicio’, while ‘The Traitors’ was third. ‘The Revolutionaries’ and ‘Mirzapur’ followed at fourth and fifth respectively.
Meanwhile, ‘The Revolutionaries’, which premiered on September 11, is created and directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment. Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada lead the cast, with Jason Shah, Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury inkey roles.
In the non-English film chart, ‘Drawn Together’ led the field, with ‘Babita Singh Reporting’ at No. 2, followed by Argentina’s ‘Barreda: Husband, father, Murderer’. Spain accounted for the next five positions with ‘Culpa Mia’, ‘Tell Me Softly / Dímelo Bajito’, ‘Culpa Nuestra’, ‘Culpa Tuya’ and ‘Boulevard’, while Brazil’s ‘Beast Race / Corrida dos Bichos’ and Mexico’s ‘Vengeance / Venganza’ completed the top 10.
