NDTV has appointed senior journalist Sneha Mordani as its Health Editor. She will lead NDTV’s health journalism across television and digital platforms.

According to a NDTV press release, Mordani has 19 years of experience in television journalism and has worked with India Today, CNN-News18, Times Now and NewsX. 

She has more than a decade of experience in health journalism, covering public health, medical science, healthcare access, consumer health and wellness.

At India Today, she created and led ‘COVID 360’, which covered the COVID-19 pandemic through ground reports, expert interviews and analysis. Her coverage included vaccines and vaccine access, COVID-19 among children, black fungus, comorbidities, treatment protocols and public-health measures. 

She also reported on reopening, travel, crowding and COVID-appropriate behaviour as restrictions were eased.

She later developed and led ‘Health 360’, expanding the coverage to medicine, healthcare, nutrition, prevention, lifestyle and wellness. Her work has also included consumer health topics such as food labelling and cough-syrup safety, along with wider developments in public health and medical science.

At NewsX, Mordani reported on the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, while at CNN-News18 she led coverage of COVID-19, vaccines, public-health measures and scientific developments.

Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief, NDTV, said health journalism requires credibility and the ability to explain complex information in a way audiences can understand and trust. 

He welcomed Mordani to NDTV and said her experience in health journalism would help lead the network’s health coverage.

Mordani has interviewed several leading voices from the medical, science and healthcare sectors, including Prof. Balram Bhargava, Dr. Randeep Guleria, Dr. Devi Shetty, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Dr. Krishna Ella and Adar Poonawalla, among others.
