Prime Video and Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) have inked a multiyear rights agreement, ensuring viewers year-round access to top-tier boxing events featuring the industry’s biggest stars, Amazon Studios has said.
The alliance solidifies Prime Video as the exclusive distributor of PBC’s marquee pay-per-view events in the US, marking a significant addition to Prime’s robust entertainment and savings offerings.
PBC, renowned for hosting monumental boxing spectacles since its inception in 2015, boasts a lineup of over 150 active fighters across diverse weight divisions, showcasing top contenders and reigning world champions. Notable showdowns such as David Benavidez vs. Caleb Plant, Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs. Ryan Garcia, Errol Spence vs. Terence Crawford, and Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo have graced PBC’s impressive roster.
Prime Video’s distribution will kick off with the highly anticipated PBC PPV event slated for March 2024, extending access to all viewers, regardless of Prime membership status, the media statement from Amazon Studios added.
Expanding its offerings, Prime Video will exclusively stream a series of PBC Championship Boxing events in the US and select regions. These events promise to spotlight the sport’s rising stars and established champions, with specifics on cards, dates, and venues to follow in subsequent announcements.
Moreover, Prime Video is set to augment its Original sports content with behind-the-scenes PBC docuseries, live weigh-ins, and an extensive archive featuring previous events, highlights, and more.
Marie Donoghue, VP of U.S. Sports Content & Partnerships at Amazon, expressed excitement about bringing PBC’s elite boxers to Prime Video, amplifying the platform’s sports offerings and engaging a global audience.
Bruce Binkow, CEO of Integrated Sports, PBC’s exclusive agency, conveyed pride in partnering with Prime Video, anticipating broader reach and heightened visibility for their top-notch boxing showdowns.
