India Today has unveiled its new initiative, the 3C Project, designed to break through polarized narratives and bring empathy-led, issue-driven discussions into the public sphere.
According to a press note, the project seeks to challenge echo chambers and widen mainstream exposure to diverse viewpoints by facilitating conversations rooted in lived experiences rather than confrontation.
At its heart, 3C is positioned as a space where people with opposing perspectives can sit across from each other and engage in thoughtful, issue-focused dialogue. The intent is not to stage a debate or fuel arguments but to create room for listening, questioning and finding common ground.
At a time when discourse around caste, religion, youth crime and digital exposure is often reduced to noise, the initiative aims to restore nuance by bringing real voices into national discussions. Disagreements, the team emphasises, are treated as entry points for synthesis and not division.
The project premiered its first episode last week on X, with the launch centred on one of India’s most debated subjects: caste reservation. The discussion brought ground-level viewpoints to a younger and digitally active audience, setting the tone for the kind of candid engagement the series intends to promote.
Extending the conversation beyond the episode, India Today hosted a dedicated X Space with Managing Editor Marya Shakil on December 8 at 9 pm. The session drew notable traction, with more than 1,000 participants joining live and sharing their perspectives.
The recording continued to gather attention, accumulating over 200 replays within minutes. During the Space, Shakil remarked, “If you listen to disagree, not to dismiss, then this India Today Space can rise above noise and shape how India thinks about caste, opportunity and power.”
The discussion later transitioned to her nightly broadcast, ‘Newstrack’, at 10 pm, integrating insights shared by the digital community into the national telecast.
Through the 3C Project, India Today reinforces its commitment to public-interest journalism that blends broadcast, digital engagement and community-driven dialogue. Each episode will take up topics of national significance, with a focus on fact-based, constructive and emotionally intelligent conversations.
As the initiative continues to roll out, the organisation says 3C will evolve into a broader platform where India talks, listens and thinks together—beyond the binaries and beyond the noise.
