GTPL Hathway Limited has announced the acquisition of the cable television business of seven companies belonging to ACT Group in a Rs36.23 crore deal, marking a key move to strengthen its presence in the cable TV sector.
As per the company’s regulatory filing, GTPL signed a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) with the ACT group companies on June 23, 2026, to acquire their cable TV business through a slump sale on a going concern basis.
The acquisition includes the cable television operations of A.C.N Cable Private Limited, ACT Digital Home Entertainment Private Limited, Atria Broadband Services Private Limited, Kable First India Private Limited, Sri Venkateshwara Digital Home Entertainment Private Limited, Mandapeta Digital Entertainment Private Limited, and I.B. Communications Network Private Limited.
These companies operate across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Karnataka, collectively serving around 6 lakh cable TV subscribers. GTPL said the acquisition is part of its strategy to expand and strengthen its cable television business and improve its market reach.
The company also clarified that the deal is not a related party transaction and no promoter or promoter group has any interest in the acquired entities. It further stated that no regulatory approvals are required for the transaction.the acquisition is expected to be completed by September 15, 2026.
