Sippy Films, the iconic banner behind some of Indian cinema’s most enduring cultural milestones, including ‘Sholay’, is entering a new phase of transformation as it repositions itself as a character IP–led content studio.
The shift is being driven under the custodianship of Shehzad Sippy and is backed by a strategic investment from Kuberans Tech Ventures Private Limited, co-founded by Jeet Wagh. The investment has been completed at an undisclosed valuation.
According to a Variety report, the restructuring marks a significant evolution for the storied studio, which occupies a singular position in Indian film history as the owner and custodian of rare and enduring intellectual properties such as ‘Sholay’, ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ and ‘Shaan’. These titles continue to retain cultural relevance across generations, platforms and formats, making them valuable assets in an increasingly IP-driven entertainment landscape.
