Panorama Studios has announced a long-term strategic distribution partnership with the iconic Century Films for the release of all its Malayalam films, marking a significant step in strengthening its presence in the South Indian market. The association brings together a contemporary, content-focused studio and one of the most respected legacy banners in Malayalam cinema.
As reported by Storyboard18, the partnership will begin with the release of Anomie, starring Rehman and Bhavana, scheduled to hit theatres on January 30. This will be followed by Asif Ali–starrer ‘Tikitaka’, Production No. 3 featuring Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose, along with several other projects currently in the pipeline under Panorama Studios’ Malayalam slate.
Century Films is led by veteran producer MC Phillip, popularly known as Century Kochumon, a towering figure in the Malayalam film industry. With a career spanning nearly five decades, Kochumon founded Century Films in the mid-1970s, building it into one of the most credible and influential production and distribution banners in South Indian cinema. Over the years, the banner has played a pivotal role in shaping Malayalam cinema, backing landmark films and working with some of the industry’s biggest names, including superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty.
Panorama Studios’ decision to partner with Century Films is rooted in the latter’s deep grassroots presence in Kerala, its sharp understanding of regional audiences, and its long-standing relationships with exhibitors, theatres and key stakeholders across the state. Known for its strong distribution network and a reputation built on consistency and integrity, Century Films continues to be one of the most trusted names in the region.
Commenting on the collaboration, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Chairman, Panorama Studios, said that Century Films is more than just a distribution company and described it as an institution in Malayalam cinema. He noted that Century Kochumon’s legacy, credibility and deep-rooted industry connect make the banner an ideal partner to ensure Panorama’s Malayalam films reach audiences in Kerala in the most impactful and authentic manner.
Century Kochumon, Head of Century Films, said the partnership reflects shared values and a common vision. He added that Panorama Studios brings a modern, content-driven approach combined with a strong respect for storytelling, and that the association feels like a natural progression for Century Films as it looks to present meaningful Malayalam cinema with renewed strength and scale.
With this alliance, Panorama Studios underlines its commitment to expanding its footprint in South India by collaborating with distributors who bring together legacy, local insight and proven market leadership. Together, Panorama Studios and Century Films aim to deliver Malayalam cinema with the reach, respect and scale it deserves.
