Ranveer Singh’s spy action thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ continues to dominate the box office, crossing the Rs 700 crore mark worldwide by the end of its second week in theatres. The film achieved the milestone despite witnessing its first notable slowdown in daily collections since its release on December 5.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the high-octane film features an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt and Rakesh Bedi.
According to a UNI report, the dip in collections came on the second Thursday of its run, coinciding with the build-up to the release of James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, which has begun to impact screens and audience attention.
As per early estimates by Sacnilk, ‘Dhurandhar’ earned around Rs 23 crore net in India on Day 14 across all languages. Even with this slowdown, the film wrapped up its second week on a historic note. Sacnilk data indicates that the film’s worldwide collections have crossed Rs 700 crore, with India gross contributing approximately Rs 550 crore and overseas markets adding around Rs 150 crore. The film is now firmly eyeing entry into the elite Rs 1,000 crore global club.
The Ranveer Singh-starrer delivered an estimated Rs 253.5 crore net in its second week alone, marking the highest-ever second-week collection for a Hindi film. It also became the first Hindi film to cross Rs 200 crore net in its second week, surpassing the earlier benchmark set by ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. Notably, ‘Dhurandhar’ outperformed its own opening week, which had collected Rs 207.25 crore net.
On Thursday, December 18, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 32.35 percent. Morning shows opened at a modest 18.28 percent, with footfalls steadily improving through the day. Evening shows saw occupancy rise to 38.08 percent, while night shows peaked at 40.97 percent, reflecting sustained audience interest despite increased competition.
After two weeks, ‘Dhurandhar’ stands at approximately Rs 460.25 crore net in India. On the gross front, domestic collections have crossed Rs 550 crore, with India gross estimated at Rs 552 crore. The film entered the Rs 500 crore India gross club on its second Wednesday, achieving the feat in just 13 days, making it one of the fastest films to do so.
The Aditya Dhar directorial is now the third Indian film and the second Bollywood film of 2025 to cross Rs 500 crore gross domestically, and the 16th Indian film overall to reach the landmark. ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ was the first Indian film to achieve this milestone, followed over the years by a select list of Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil blockbusters.
Internationally too, ‘Dhurandhar’ has put up an impressive performance, with overseas earnings estimated at Rs 150 crore, taking its worldwide total to around Rs 702 crore by the end of Week Two. Trade analysts believe that despite the arrival of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, the film may continue to hold steady as a Hindi-language release and potentially add another Rs 100 crore over the weekend, keeping its Rs 1,000 crore global ambition very much alive.
