Hollywood actor Jennifer Aniston is set to return to Apple TV+ as the lead in a new drama series based on Jennette McCurdy’s bestselling memoir ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’.
The upcoming 10-episode show marks another major collaboration between the streaming platform and Aniston, who also stars in and executive produces the acclaimed series ‘The Morning Show’.
According to a PTI report, Aniston will serve as both star and executive producer for the adaptation, which is being written and showrun by Ari Katcher alongside McCurdy herself. The series, based on McCurdy’s 2022 memoir published by Simon & Schuster, will delve into the deeply personal and often darkly humorous experiences of the former child star.
The memoir chronicles McCurdy’s rise to fame as a teen actor, her complicated and emotionally fraught relationship with her domineering mother, and the toll that early fame took on her mental health and personal identity. Upon its release, the book garnered widespread critical acclaim for its unflinching honesty and sharp wit, quickly climbing bestseller lists and sparking conversation across the entertainment industry.
Apple TV+ has not yet announced a release date for the series, but with Aniston on board and McCurdy involved creatively, the project is already being hailed as one of the most anticipated adaptations to watch for in the coming year.
