Emmy-winning actor Rachel Brosnahan is set to take on the lead role in the second season of Apple TV+’s gripping legal thriller series ‘Presumed Innocent’. The ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ star will headline the next chapter of the drama, which is inspired by a forthcoming book by author Jo Murray.
According to a report by Press Trust of India, the new season will be based on Murray’s upcoming novel ‘Dissection of a Murder’, which is expected to be published in 2026. While details of the plot remain under wraps, the story promises to deliver another complex narrative of crime, suspicion, and courtroom intrigue—elements that made the first season a success among viewers.
Apple TV+ confirmed the news through an official Instagram post, sparking excitement among fans of the show and Brosnahan alike. The streaming platform has yet to announce a release date for Season 2, but the casting of Brosnahan has already heightened anticipation.
The first season of ‘Presumed Innocent’, adapted from Scott Turow’s bestselling 1987 novel of the same name, starred Jake Gyllenhaal and was praised for its intense storytelling and tightly-wound performances. Season two will reportedly follow a fresh storyline, and Brosnahan’s character is expected to be at the heart of a new criminal case that challenges the boundaries between guilt and innocence.
This marks a return to dramatic television for Brosnahan following her acclaimed run as Midge Maisel, a role that earned her both critical and audience acclaim. With a fresh narrative arc and Brosnahan’s proven acting prowess, Presumed Innocent Season 2 is shaping up to be a significant addition to Apple TV+’s growing lineup of high-quality original content.
