Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced a festive-season multi-language content slate, featuring new fiction and reality shows, movies, regional programming and live sports across television and digital platforms.
The lineup, according to a company statement yesterday, reflects its focus on premium, multilingual content and includes popular franchises, new concepts and international formats adapted for Indian audiences.
Simultaneously, SonyLIV has also introduced its new brand positioning — It All LIVs Here — positioning the platform as the digital home for the media company’s entertainment and sports offerings.
A major highlight is ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ Season 18, which premiered August 10 on Sony Entertainment Television and the digital platform.
Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, the new season comes with the theme ‘Sochna Padega’ and continues the show’s focus on knowledge, aspiration and life-changing stories.
The Hindi entertainment lineup includes cricket star Rohit Sharma’s entertainment debut with a new show. Ajay Devgn will host ‘Crime Patrol 2026’, while Bharti Singh and Harssh Limbachiyaa will host ‘Indian Game Show’, which will feature celebrities taking part in entertaining challenges.
Sony LIV will also feature ‘Scam 2010’, a series from SonyLIV, Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, which is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta. The show will explore the rise and fall of a major financial empire.
SPNI is also expanding its regional lineup. Madhuri Dixit will host ‘Kon Honar Crorepati’, the Marathi edition of the popular ‘KBC’ format. For Tamil audiences, Sony LIV will present ‘MasterChef Tamil’, featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and ‘Tamil Idol’, the Tamil adaptation of a global singing competition format.
Music maestro A.R. Rahman will lead the search for Tamil Nadu’s next outstanding singing talent.
Sports will also be a key part of the lineup. Sony Sports Network’s ‘Festival of Sports’ will run from August 15 to December 1, featuring India’s tour of Sri Lanka, the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, the Asian Games and India’s all-format cricket tour of New Zealand.
The calendar will offer more than three months of international cricket and multi-sport action.
SPNI Managing Director and CEO Gaurav Banerjee said the company is focusing on content that connects with audiences across languages, genres and screens.
He added that the new slate brings together established franchises, new formats, marquee talent, regional programming and live sports.
