YouTube is enhancing its Shorts platform by introducing new Shopping product stickers designed to make videos more shop-pable and interactive. The update, announced on Wednesday, enables creators to directly tag products within their Shorts, making it easier for viewers to discover and purchase items with just a tap.
According to Storyboard18, the stickers replace the older banner-style Shopping button and offer a more seamless integration. When a creator tags a product, a sticker auto-generates based on the first tagged item, with options to resize and reposition.
For Shorts featuring multiple products, a dropdown arrow lets viewers explore the full list. Clicking on any item redirects them to the retailer’s website, streamlining the path from discovery to purchase.
YouTube said early testing of the feature showed promising results—Shorts featuring the new stickers saw over 40 percent more product clicks compared to those using the older Shopping banner. The global rollout of Shopping stickers begins this week, excluding South Korea, where YouTube plans to introduce them soon.
