Walt Disney Studios captivated attendees with an exclusive preview of its upcoming theatrical releases at CinemaCon. The studio showcased a diverse line-up from Disney Live Action, Marvel Studios, Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios, 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures.
Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment and Tony Chambers, executive vice president of theatrical distribution, took the stage, unveiling exciting footage and trailers at CinemaCon on Thursday.
Highlights included ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,’ ‘Young Woman and the Sea,’ ‘Inside Out 2,’ ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, and ‘Alien: Romulus’.
The presentation also featured teasers for upcoming projects like ‘Kinds of Kindness’, ‘The Amateur’ and ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’. The event culminated in a surprise appearance by Dwayne Johnson, heralding the highly anticipated ‘Moana 2’.
Disney‘s presence at CinemaCon underscored its commitment to delivering exceptional cinematic experiences and reaffirmed its status as an industry leader.
“The upcoming lineup from our studio is incredibly exciting,” Bergman said in a statement posted on Disney website yesterday, adding, “With a mix of established franchises and fresh stories, there’s something for everyone and we look forward to serving up a variety of films that deliver a steady flow of exceptional cinematic events to theaters.”
The statement elaborated that this year’s slate follows a 2023 that saw Disney bring in nearly $5 billion at the global box office. That includes $1.9 billion domestically (US) across 17 titles. Acclaim also followed financial success last year as Disney led the industry with 20 Oscar nominations, including five wins, the company said.
