The Intervision 2025 international music contest ended on a historic note with Vietnamese pop sensation Duc Phuc crowned champion, marking a triumphant return of the event after more than three decades.
Phuc outshone 22 other participants at Moscow’s Live Arena, taking home the crystal trophy and a cash prize of 30 million RUB.
According to a NewsX report, the revived edition of Intervision, held on September 20, 2025, brought together artists from BRICS, CIS, Latin America, and the Middle East. The contest, an initiative championed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, featured a refreshed format and showcased a diverse cultural lineup. Duc Phuc’s performance of ‘Phu Dong Thien Vuong’ electrified the 11,000-strong audience and secured him 422 points, a commanding 49 points ahead of the runner-up.
India’s debut at Intervision proved to be significant both on stage and behind the scenes. Representing the country was Kashmiri singer, producer, and composer Rauhan Malik, who delivered a stirring rendition of his original track ‘Ishq’. His performance earned him a respectable 12th place finish among 23 participating nations. Speaking to NewsX after the event, Malik said, “Intervision 2025 was an unforgettable experience. The platform truly brought my vision of collaborating with artists from around the world to life. The warmth and hospitality shown by our Russian hosts made the experience even more special.”
India’s role in the contest extended well beyond Malik’s participation. Celebrated Bollywood composer Dr. Jaan Nissar Lone made history as the first Indian jury member at Intervision, bringing credibility and expertise to the panel. Adding further glamour, Indian actress and model Stefy Patel co-hosted the event. Draped in a traditional pink Kanjivaram saree, Patel represented Indian culture on the global stage and became a talking point for audiences worldwide.
Behind the scenes, India also contributed to the organizational framework of the contest. Mumbai-based ARMS Record Label Private Limited/AR Music Studios stepped in as co-organizer, while NewsX served as a media partner. Roshan Space Brandcom partnered as the official outdoor media collaborator, amplifying India’s imprint on the event.
With Duc Phuc’s historic victory and India’s multifaceted debut, Intervision 2025 has not only revived an iconic international platform but also strengthened cultural exchange across continents. For India, the experience marks an important step forward in global music representation, showcasing the country’s rich talent and tradition to a worldwide audience and paving the way for greater collaborations in the years ahead.
