Filmmaker Siddharth Anand and actor Abhishek Bachchan are set to collaborate on an untitled horror thriller, extending their professional partnership even as work continues on their upcoming action film King.
According to a UNI report, the new project will be produced by Anand under his banner Marflix Pictures, while one of his close associates is expected to helm the film. The story is said to centre on an emotionally layered father–daughter relationship set against the eerie backdrop of traditional folklore.
The film is envisioned as a large-scale, VFX-heavy horror drama that aims to deliver a distinctive theatrical experience, something relatively uncommon within the Indian horror genre. In recent years, the genre has largely shifted towards horror-comedies, but Anand is reportedly planning to approach the project as a mainstream commercial horror film designed for the big screen.
For Bachchan, the film will mark a significant shift in his career, as the actor has not previously explored the horror genre. The project is expected to go on floors in September 2026.
Anand and Bachchan have shared a long-standing professional equation. The actor had earlier made a cameo appearance in Anand’s debut film ‘Salaam Namaste’ (2005), and their association has reportedly strengthened further while working together on ‘King’.
Bachchan was last seen in ‘Kaalidhar Lapata’ (2025), a drama about a middle-aged man dealing with memory loss. He will next appear opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Anand’s upcoming action entertainer ‘King’, which features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Varma. The film is slated for a theatrical release during the Christmas 2026 weekend.
Apart from this, Bachchan will also feature in Raja Shivaji, the historical drama directed by Riteish Deshmukh, which is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1, 2026.
