In a gripping twist that left viewers stunned, Prime Video’s The Traitors has already claimed its first set of high-profile exits and it’s just the first week. Popular faces Karan Kundrra, Lakshmi Manchu, Raj Kundra, and Sahil Salathia are out of the game, with three Innocents eliminated and one Traitor exposed. If this is any indication of what’s to come, The Traitors is clearly not here to play safe.
According to an official press note from Prime Video, the Indian adaptation of the globally acclaimed format has kicked off with unrelenting drama. In the first three explosive episodes, viewers witnessed alliances forming and collapsing within hours, murders that shocked the palace, and betrayals that cut deep. Accusations came in hard and fast, reminding both the players and audiences that in this ruthless game of trust, even silence can be deadly.
Sharing his perspective on the game’s brutal unpredictability, Raj Kundra remarked, “Aapko kuch pata nahi chalta, kaun kiski peeth pe peeche kya bol raha hai. But that is the beauty of the show. You never know who is playing who. At one point, I suspected Janvi or Ashish Sir, then I stayed silent. I didn’t expect people like Rebel Kid, and Raftaar to actually connect the dots and turn on me. But I loved it. It is a Kalyug show, and truly the baap of all shows.”
Karan Kundrra, who also bid farewell early, reflected on how quickly the game moves: “I’m used to a different format, jisme thoda time lagta hai game samajhne mein. But yahan par, game samajhne se pehle hi itna kuch ho gaya. It was like being in hyperdrive. I really wish that day, if I had survived the Circle of Truth, then I would’ve gone quite far. Because this is a very different kind of game.”
For Lakshmi Manchu, who made her reality show debut with ‘The Traitors’, the experience was personal. “This format was very new for me, personally. It was my first time doing a reality show. But it was a beautiful experience. As I said, it was a wonderful experiment I did on myself, stepping into a reality series, and I’m glad I did it. I really am glad that I got to do a show with such an incredible cast and crew.”
Sahil Salathia, whose elimination came through the show’s chilling murder process, shared his disbelief. “It would never be Elnaaz who I thought would kill me. But when Raj Kundra told me on the way back that Elnaaz did, my faith in basic human love language was lost.”
With the palace growing colder and suspicions running deeper, all eyes are now on the quiet ones. Who’s playing the long game? Who’s next to fall? And can anyone really be trusted?
Produced by BBC Studios India Productions, The Traitors is the Indian adaptation of IDTV’s BAFTA and Emmy award-winning global format, brought to Indian audiences by Prime Video in collaboration with All3Media International. The first three episodes are now streaming, with new episodes releasing every Thursday at 8 pm on Prime Video.
