Saregama India is strengthening its push towards premium music intellectual property (IP) even as the company explores emerging monetisation opportunities in the artificial intelligence ecosystem. The move reflects the music giant’s broader strategy of building long-term value through ownership of high-quality content while adapting to rapidly evolving digital consumption trends, The Economic Times has reported.
The company has increasingly focused on acquiring and creating premium music catalogues, independent artist partnerships, original content, and curated entertainment formats that can sustain value across streaming, licensing, short-video platforms, and global digital distribution channels, the ET report said.
Executives at the company have indicated that AI may become an important layer for discovery, distribution, personalization, and monetisation, but original intellectual property will remain central to sustainable growth. With increasing concerns across the global entertainment industry around copyright, licensing, and content authenticity, established music owners are expected to play a critical role in shaping future AI frameworks.
Saregama has already built one of India’s most valuable music libraries, spanning multiple decades, languages, and genres.
