Prime Video on Thursday showcased its upcoming slate of young adult (YA) series and movies in an exclusive event in Ibiza, bringing together stars from some of its most successful international originals across Europe and Latin America. The retreat highlighted the streaming platform’s commitment to expanding its young adult content, featuring a mix of book-to-screen adaptations, original series, and films that promise to captivate audiences worldwide.
A Prime Video press release the event spotlighted stars from popular franchises like ‘Culpables’, ‘Dímelo Bajito’, ‘Marfil’, and ‘Enfrentados’, alongside new projects including the English-language Italian Original series ‘Postcards From Italy’ and the Italian film ‘Love Me, Love Me – Magnetic Hearts’. The retreat also unveiled the ‘House of Ron,’ an exclusive collaboration with bestselling author Mercedes Ron, which will bring ten of her novels to the screen, including adaptations of the ‘Culpables trilogy’, ‘Dímelo Bajito’, ‘Dímelo en Secreto’, ‘Marfil’, and ‘Ébano’.
Nicole Wallace, star of Prime Video’s hugely popular ‘Culpables’ franchise, was announced as the lead for ‘Postcards From Italy’, directed by Academy Award-winning director Jessica Yu. Speaking at the retreat, Wallace expressed her excitement, saying the partnership with Amazon MGM Studios allows her to explore complex characters and meaningful storytelling, and she is eager to bring the character Mia to life.
Mercedes Ron, whose novels form the backbone of several upcoming adaptations, highlighted how Prime Video has successfully translated her stories to the screen, connecting with a global audience. Ron noted that fans will soon experience more stories featuring beloved characters while discovering new ones through these adaptations.
The retreat also featured first-look images, clips, and panels with the lead cast of upcoming projects. Among them were Gabriel Guevara, Hugo Diego Garcia, Fernando Lindez, Diego Vidales, Mia Jenkins, Pepe Barroso Silva, Luca Melucci, and Franco Masini, representing projects such as ‘Culpa Nuestra’, ‘Marfil’, ‘Dímelo Bajito’, ‘Love Me, Love Me – Magnetic Hearts’, ‘Postcards From Italy’, and the Argentinian series ‘Amor Animal’.
Prime Video also announced the December launch of ‘Dímelo Bajito’ and confirmed production on the second film in the trilogy, ‘Dímelo en Secreto’. The retreat underscored the platform’s focus on cultivating content for young adult audiences by adapting popular books, Wattpad hits, and global franchises. This includes UK adaptations like ‘Your Fault: London’ and series like ‘Maxton Hall’, which have already resonated strongly with audiences worldwide.
Nicole Clemens, VP and Head of International Originals, said the overwhelming response to Prime Video’s international originals demonstrates the universal appeal of authentic storytelling. Meanwhile, Tara Erer, Head of Originals Northern Europe, emphasized the platform’s strategy to target younger viewers through popular book-to-screen franchises and emerging creative talent.
With this robust lineup, Prime Video is set to strengthen its position as a global hub for premium young adult content, blending romance, drama, suspense, and coming-of-age stories that cater to audiences across languages and regions.
