Prime Video has announced May 8, 2026, as the worldwide premiere date for its upcoming original series ‘Lukkhe’, a musical action drama set against the vibrant and volatile backdrop of Punjab.
According to a Prime Video press release, the eight-episode series will stream exclusively in Hindi across India and more than 240 countries and territories. Directed by Himank Gaur and produced by Vipul D Shah and Rajesh Bahl under Optimystix Entertainment and White Guerrilla LLP, the show blends high-octane action with rap music and emotional storytelling.
Created and executive produced by Agrim Joshi and Debojit Das Purkayastha, ‘Lukkhe’ features Raashii Khanna alongside King, who makes his acting debut with the series. It also marks the streaming debut of Palak Tiwari, with Lakshvir Singh Saran in a key role. The ensemble cast includes Nakul Roshan Sahdev, Kritika Bharadwaj, Shivankit Parihar, Yograj Singh, and Ayesha Raza Mishra.
Set in Chandigarh, the series revolves around rival rappers MC Badnaam and OG, whose intense personal rivalry unfolds into a gripping narrative of revenge and redemption. With rap culture at its core, the story explores ambition, conflict, and emotional turmoil, blending music-driven storytelling with action and drama. The show’s central theme—“Rap aur Badla, Dono Loud Hai”—captures its high-energy tone.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, said the series reflects the platform’s focus on experimenting with storytelling formats and genres. He noted that Lukkhe brings together action and music while maintaining emotional depth, creating a distinctive viewing experience for audiences.
Creators Agrim Joshi and Debojit Das Purkayastha described the series as a passion project that moves beyond conventional action dramas, combining raw human emotions with stylised storytelling. They added that collaboration with Prime Video and the cast has helped shape an immersive and intense narrative.
With its mix of music, action, and drama, ‘Lukkhe’ aims to offer a fresh take on the coming-of-age genre, positioning itself as a high-energy addition to Prime Video’s original content slate.
