Prime Video has released the second trailer of its highly anticipated original series ‘Raakh’, offering a deeper look into the dark, intense, and emotionally charged world of the upcoming investigative crime thriller. set against the backdrop of the late 1970s, the series combines a gripping manhunt with a powerful exploration of grief, guilt, morality, and the human consequences of crime.
According to Prime Video press release, the newly released trailer opens with a haunting close-up of a pair of eyes accompanied by a chilling laugh, immediately setting a tense and unsettling tone. as the story unfolds, viewers are introduced to Babu (Akash Makhija) and Rajjo (Ramandeep Yadav), two notorious criminals whose violent actions trigger a nationwide search operation. through a series of fast-paced sequences, the trailer offers glimpses into their troubled pasts and the events that shaped their disturbing personalities.
At the heart of the investigation is SI Jayprakash, played by Ali Fazal, a determined police officer racing against time to capture the duo before they strike again. As Babu and Rajjo continue to leave a trail of destruction in their wake, the pursuit turns into a high-stakes battle of intelligence, survival, and justice. the trailer hints at a tense cat-and-mouse chase, with the criminals often appearing to stay one step ahead of law enforcement.
While ‘Raakh’ is built around a crime investigation, the creators say the series goes far beyond the mystery itself. created, written, and co-directed by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket, the show focuses on the emotional impact of crime on victims, families, and communities.
Speaking about the series, Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket said that they wanted to create a story where the emotional aftermath of a crime was just as important as the investigation. according to them, the series explores themes such as grief, guilt, anger, love, and loss, asking not only who committed the crime but also how a single act can change the lives of everyone connected to it.
Produced by Deepak Dhar, Rishi Negi, Mrinalini Jain, and Shyam Rathi under the banner of Endemol shine India in association with BhaDiPa, ‘Raakh’ is directed and executive produced by Prosit Roy. the dialogues have been written by Ayush Trivedi.
