Zee Entertainment Enterprises has appointed film trade analyst and journalist Komal Nahta as Creative Director for its movies business. The appointment comes as the company restructures Zee Studios and its film acquisition operations.
According to an ETBrandEquity report today, Nahta will oversee commercial decisions and film acquisitions across platforms, focusing on Hindi and regional-language films. Suraj Singh and the Zee Studios team will report to him, while Nahta will report directly to Zee Entertainment CEO Punit Goenka.
The restructuring aims to streamline film investments, commissioning, production, acquisitions and distribution across theatrical, television and digital platforms. Punit Goenka said the new structure would combine creative decision-making with commercial planning to maximise the value of the company’s film investments.
Nahta brings four decades of experience in the film industry. He is a trade analyst, critic and publisher of the film trade magazine ‘Film Information’. He also hosted ‘Bollywood Business’ on Zee’s ETC channel for 10 years.
