Netflix has announced that its acclaimed police procedural series ‘Kohrra’ will return for a second season on February 11, bringing back the gritty, atmospheric storytelling that struck a chord with audiences in its debut outing. Set once again against the stark and wintry backdrop of Punjab, the new season promises a fresh investigation where unspoken truths and buried emotions play as crucial a role as the crime itself.
According to a PTI report, the streaming platform confirmed the release date on Tuesday, following the strong critical response to the first season, which was widely appreciated for its layered characters and grounded narrative. The upcoming instalment is expected to build on that foundation, while introducing a new case that tests the investigators in unexpected ways.
Actor Barun Sobti will reprise his role as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi, a character that became central to the show’s emotional depth in the first season. The new season will also see Mona Singh join the franchise in a key role, adding a fresh dynamic to the narrative and expanding the series’ ensemble.
The first season of ‘Kohrra’ stood out for its restrained storytelling, focusing as much on the personal conflicts of its characters as on the crime they were investigating. With season two, the makers are set to retain that tone, returning to a world where the landscape, the silences and the unresolved tensions are as telling as any confession.
With its February 11 premiere, ‘Kohrra’ is poised to strengthen Netflix’s slate of Indian crime dramas, offering viewers another compelling chapter in a series that has already earned a reputation for depth, realism and quiet intensity.
